Biography
Anncaro Changwony serves as the Board Director for Communications at the Restoration of Elgeyo Marakwet Escarpment Initiative (REMEI), where she plays a key role in shaping how the organization communicates its mission, impact, and community-driven restoration work.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Disaster Management from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and is currently an Intern at the Kenya Revenue Authority. Her professional journey includes experience as an attaché with World Vision Kenya and volunteer service with the Kenya Red Cross Society, where she contributed to community-focused humanitarian and resilience initiatives.
Anncaro is deeply passionate about environmental conservation, climate resilience, and disaster risk management. She is particularly interested in how disaster management knowledge can help communities anticipate, prepare for, and respond to environmental and climate-related shocks.
As the youngest member of the REMEI Board, Anncaro brings a dynamic perspective to the organization. She helps bridge the gap between scientific and environmental restoration goals and community understanding, ensuring that REMEI's work is clearly communicated, locally supported, and translated into meaningful action on the ground.
Her leadership strengthens REMEI's ability to connect restoration efforts with community voices, youth engagement, and future-focused climate solutions.
