Where We Work

REMEI operates in Elgeyo Marakwet County, located in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. The county is characterised by the dramatic Elgeyo Escarpment — a critical ecological zone that provides water to millions downstream while supporting unique biodiversity found nowhere else on earth.

The escarpment communities face acute pressures from deforestation, soil erosion, erratic rainfall, and limited economic alternatives — making integrated conservation and livelihood work essential.
